An international platform to exchange culture and getting volunteer support is the main theme of this camp. The Society (Sankalp Volunteer Society, India) is a registered NGO working with support of International volunteers.  Our mission is to provide volunteers with a customized program that will enable them to make an important contribution to the poor and needy kids of India. In the past several years, we have been thousands volunteers throughout the globe within different projects.

Our foremost goal is to “Make the pledge to volunteer and make positive change to our local communities by being a Responsible Tourist in India! We ensure that all volunteers are provided with a safe and enriching experience while volunteering India. Our flexible approach means that you will be given a placement to suit your needs and time scale. All international students are also welcome to take part in our projects. Our unique placements could become the trip of a lifetime experience.

Target

Energetic people around the world come together during the exciting festival days to learn Indian culture, food, dress while try to bring changes to the society by volunteer work during the festival.

Location: Jaipur

Jaipur is the capital of India’s Rajasthan state. It evokes the royal family that once ruled the region and that, in 1727, founded what is now called the Old City or “Pink City for its trademark building color. Volunteering in Jaipur is a great opportunity to learn about a new culture from the inside and discover it. The volunteering & travel in India shows you the incredible beauty, diversity and discovery of a new way of life.

Program  Indian festivals are world famous because of it social & cultural values. Volunteers will have exciting time during volunteer work in Jaipur. They can choose volunteer work activities from Orphanage Support / Work for Street Children / Women’s Empowerment / Teaching Assistance for the duration of 01 to 56 weeks. Our main purpose is to bring smile on vulnerable children and women during the festive season while witnessing the excitement of Indian festivals. India is always been famous for its culture, tradition, language and food cuisine. Different culture, dress code, language and cooking style made the country like a continent! While volunteering with this non-profit organization, volunteers will have chance to learn basics of Indian yoga & meditation in the volunteer house, Jaipur itself and volunteers have golden chance to know about the ethnic heritage of this Pink City of India as well. It would a great fun filled time with other volunteers from around the world.

Women’s Empowerment & Rights

How will be the basis program Itinerary?

Day 1: Arrival & Pickup
Saturday: Once you get picked up from the airport you will be taken to our volunteer’s house in Jaipur. You will to our local team and give you a house introduction.

Day 2: Program Orientation
Sunday: Next day of your arrival, you will begin program orientation with the program manager and then taken to see nearby things like ATM, Bank, Supermarket, Laundry etc.

Day 3-7: Volunteer Work
Monday – Friday: After breakfast you will be going to the project site to get introduced to the children and local teachers. One of our staff will be with you at all times.

Lunch will be at home between 13:00 to 14:00 hours. Your evenings can be spent indulging in cultural activities and local sightseeing. Our local teams will give you plenty of ideas of what to do!

Dinner will be available at home between 19:00 to 20:00 hours.

Accommodation, Meal and Safety

Accommodation – You are provided accommodation in our volunteers’ house, Jaipur which is a building owned by the organization. The volunteer house is an independent multi-storey building which is in northern part of Jaipur. You can reach the centre of Jaipur in 30 minutes by Auto Rickshaw. The volunteer house is safe and secure. The house is 3 stories and contains 8 shared bedrooms with suite washrooms. All washrooms have a shower and a western toilet. There is a basic kitchen and living room on each floor. During summer season the rooms have Air Conditioner at night.

Food – The cook serves quality and delicious Indian vegetarian food to the volunteers and UV treated & Ozonated water is provided in the home, which is clean and safe to drink.

Safety – At Sankalp we make safety a high priority for each and every volunteer and staff member that join our program. Our program has been running for several years and we have had the great joy in welcoming hundreds of volunteers into our program, please trust that we have extensive experience in caring and protecting all of our volunteers. This includes safety within the house, transportation provided by us, safety at the program locations, and any emergencies that may arise. We do not conduct any program that could in any possible way jeopardize the safety of any volunteer or staff member. We are very proud of our ongoing commitment and provision of safety for all that join our team. We have had hundreds of volunteers within the age group of 16-65 years since 2006, with a maximum of 30 volunteers at the house (Jaipur), with no miss-happening to anyone in our program. In order to continue our priority and contract with safety, our organization maintains very set rules and regulations. We ask that you join our program with adherence to the set rules and respect them appropriately for your own and others personal safety.

Who volunteer with us?

Volunteers are welcome on most of our programs from the age of 16 upwards and there is no maximum age limit. Many of our volunteers are between 16 and 25 years old. Many younger people take part in our Volunteering & Travel combined programs before starting university or even after graduation. You can choose whether to go with Volunteer Only programs or travel combined volunteer programs. Group Volunteer Trips are available for teens and college students year-round on specific and customized dates. When should I apply?

There is no firm deadline for applications. Some travel combined volunteer trips require at least four weeks to process an application, arrange for travel, and advise you properly on how to prepare. Whenever you are thinking of travelling combined volunteer programs, we encourage you to apply as early as possible. Having more time to prepare makes it easier for you to fund-raise, and for us to advise you on preparations.

You can do as much or as little help to our community as you want. It’s up to you. And we only work with the very best specialist tour operator to organize your volunteer placements to our voluntary organization in Jaipur; you can connect with and ask questions.
